EDUCATION AND SUPPORT
Meridian runs beginners courses regularly through the year. The next Meridian Introduction to Beekeeping course will run from 13th March 2017 for 7 weeks plus practical. The course will cover:
Venue: Botley Market Hall, upstairs room (there is a stair lift), Botley, SO30 2EA (see map below)
Mondays 7-9 pm.

Once you have completed the Beginners Course, you can choose to join our Mentoring Scheme. An experienced beekeeper will guide and support you through all practical aspects of beekeeping including seasonal advice, hive hygiene, disease treatment, and much more.
Your mentor will either help you manage your own hive(s) and colonies or will invite you to help manage their bee colonies. If you live close by, mentoring can be done through visits. If not, your mentor is easily contactable by phone.

The Meridian Apiary is also available to support learning about beekeeping. It is situated in Swanmore and regular apiary inspections are held through spring and summer. Please see the Events page for further details
BBKA Basic Assessment in Beekeeping
The Basic Assessment in Beekeeping is offered by the BBKA to those beekeepers with at least 12 months practical experience - a great way to continue with your beekeeping education. Please see the BBKA website for further information. As a Meridian member, you will be supported through the process of entering for the assessment.
