Meridian Beekeepers Association

Meridian Beekeepers' Association was founded in 1996, by a group of beekeepers' with a vision to promote bees and beekeeping beyond the norm.  From the very start the highest possible standards have been encouraged and fostered.  The monthly newsletter (2 issues a year in colour) help members keep in touch with each other, and stay on top of developments in research.  The newsletter also encourages members to initiate advanced techniques and has helpful reminders on what to do at various times of the year.  Meridian received two grants from the National Lottery Small Grants 'Awards for All' program and have used the money to improve display boards and provide bee-suits for people to get a hands-on experience.  Regular promotions include the Bees - a - Buzzin' week at Marwell Zoological Park and the British Beekeepers Association display at the Bath and West Show.

Meridian encourages new beekeepers with training courses and a helpline for the occasions when the bees have not read the manual and will not do as asked.  An additional benefit of membership is the very well stocked shop run by members for members.
